"the person who has dreamed for long resembles their dream" -Andre Malraux

Hi, I'm Paul Yun.

A few years ago, I decided to work on something meaningful to me- helping people take steps in accomplishing their life dreams, through the sharing of my learnings on how those who came before us had done it- people like Marie Curie, Walt Disney, and Oprah Winfrey, to name a few.

This is why I'm building Dream Life Cycle, a digital garden to share these stories, and a weekly newsletter called ASPIRATIONS with the intention to EDUCATE and INSPIRE. If this piques your interest, I would love to have you join (it's free).

As a thank you for your presence- here's a preview of ASPIRATIONS:

Viktor Frankl on Finding Meaning

March 16, 2026
Dear Dreamer,

Some ideas have the power to shift how we see the world — even in just a few minutes. This week, I want to share a story that reminds us how meaning and purpose can help us navigate challenges, transform obstacles, and guide the choices we make.

Dreamer: Viktor Frankl on Finding Meaning

Viktor Frankl dreamt of a world where suffering could be transformed into purpose. A trained neurologist and psychiatrist, he survived the Holocaust and went on to write one of the most influential books on meaning and resilience, "Man’s Search for Meaning." Even in the darkest moments of the concentration camps, Viktor observed that those who discovered meaning — through hope, love, or a personal mission — were able to endure unimaginable hardships. His own losses, including the death of his family, never stopped him from asking the question: What gives life meaning?

One vivid moment stayed with him: Viktor noticed a fellow inmate who had lost hope, yet clung to the small task of arranging his few belongings just so each day. Viktor realized that even in extreme suffering, finding a sense of purpose, however small, gave people the strength to endure.

Viktor’s dream wasn’t about recognition or comfort; he wanted people to see that even in circumstances beyond our control, we can choose our response. He showed that flourishing comes not from avoiding pain, but from facing it with courage, learning, and aligning our actions with purpose.

Ultimately, Viktor’s dream is a call to all of us: to recognize that our choices, attitudes, and sense of purpose can shape the trajectory of our lives, regardless of external circumstances. His story is a powerful reminder that the human capacity to thrive is born from resilience and intentionality.

Paul’s Note

Reading Viktor’s words — that when we can’t change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves — hit close to home. For the past couple of decades, I’ve been building products across hardware and software. About ten years ago, I started a company designing and manufacturing my own products overseas. It had some early success, but ultimately the business failed. During that time, I often felt alone navigating uncertainty, struggled with confidence, and worried about making the wrong decisions.

Viktor’s story reminded me that even in the toughest circumstances, perspective and purpose can give us the strength to keep going. Those experiences left me wondering why some people keep pursuing their dreams despite setbacks and doubt. Studying the lives of artists, founders, and thinkers helped me see a common thread: the people who shape the world never stop dreaming. They encounter failure and resistance like everyone else, but they keep going. They adapt, learn, and continue moving forward.

Anchoring myself to my WHY — rather than focusing just on results — has made the challenges worth facing and the growth more profound. Viktor’s life reinforces what I’ve learned: perseverance is powerful when paired with reflection, curiosity, and intentional action. ASPIRATIONS is where I share stories, reflections, and ideas for dreamers — insights you can carry into your own week. My hope is simple: to educate, inspire, and remind us to keep pursuing the dreams that matter most.

Anchoring ourselves to our WHY can turn even the hardest challenges into growth.

Approach your week like Viktor, with intention, curiosity, and purpose. Let reflection guide your next steps, and notice what opens up when you act with purpose.

Remember- Dream wildly. Wonder on.

—Paul
